Welcome to the website for Landkey, a peaceful village located within the rolling green hills of North Devon, England.
Landkey is characterised by a sense of community among its residents, especially among those who have dwelt here for many years and who have an intimate knowledge of the history and culture of the village. Landkey has welcomed many new residents in recent years as successive house-building projects have been completed and it is hoped that initiatives such as the establishment of this website will help to strengthen this sense of community by making available to all residents information about their village in a readily-accessible format.

Link Road Upgrade News
Improvement work on the North Devon Link is now proceeding and will eventually lead to better road connections. While the work is under way, though, it will mean some inconvenience for motorists. This will largely involve a reduced speed limit through the roadworks and occasional diversions through Landkey to accommodate abnormal loads. Details are given in these documents:
Anybody for Landkey Apple PIe? There are half a dozen apple trees at the top of the Millennium Green, in the corner nearest the MUGA. They are all apples varieties that have grown in Landkey for a very long time: Limberlimb, Listener, Stockbearer. They are all early apples, with quite a few fallen off the trees already. If you'd like to try them in a pie please help yourself. We've put information about them on each tree. The Millennium Green is there for all to enjoy!
The shop which Creighton Kirk and his family have opened in The Castle Inn has been dubbed "Our Creight's Stores", after Arkwright's shop in "Open All Hours". The name seems to have stuck!
Creighton is now selling daily newspapers from 8am and accepts payment by vouchers in the same way that Janette did at Lyncroft Stores. There is also a small range of essential items available for sale.
They also an outreach Post Office service on Thursdays from 9:30am until 12:30 pm.

Landkey Parish Council encourages village residents to make use of the facilities that are available to all on this website.
If there is an issue that concerns village life that you feel needs to be addressed, place it on the "Your Point of View" page and it will be sent to a parish councillor who will reply, if you ask for a response.
You might also like to add an item of news to the News Blog page or to upload an image. If, so, simply contact the web administrator on the email address below and ask for a login facility.
The Parish Council also welcomes the addition of village events to the "Events Calendar". The calendar is shared with St Paul's Church (as church events are also village events) and it would be good to have more events listed from the village in general. If you have an event that you would like to place, feel free to enter it on the "Add Event" page.
If you would like to submit events, blogs or Points of View regularly, you might prefer to obtain a login facility as this will enable you to subsequently edit your data if required or to add from a stored template to save time. To obtain a login facility, contact Charles at cerwaldron@gmail.com.

The Landkey Sculpture. Created by local artist Polly Pocock, this distinctive artwork stands at the entrance to the northern side of village and is made up of local stone from nearby Venn Quarry and is in the shape of the Landkey parish boundary. The sculpture was commissioned by Landkey Parish Council and was inspired following a consultation with local people to seek ideas on what Landkey meant to them. It was unveiled on July 25th 2009.

Landkey's Millennium Green, opened in June 2000, is appreciated daily by local residents who make use of this valuable amenity. At the time, it was one of just 250 Greens created nationwide as part of the government's plans to mark the millennium.
